Recently, MyGov.be was nominated in the categories Best eGov Project and Collaboration for the Agoria Digital Society Awards 2024. Our developers at AppFoundry was closely involved in the development of the app and design of the security measures.
The MyGov.be initiative is a key milestone in the Belgian government’s initiatives toward digital transformation. Furthermore, the app is designed with an eye on aligning with the future standards of the European wallet framework.
The primary purpose is to offer citizens a highly secure platform as a single gateway to start simplified procedures and access official documents. Through the MyGov.be app, the government aims to enhance both the simplicity and security of interacting with its services.

The app has the citizen’s digital identity at its core, therefore stringent measures are taken to have a solid proof of identity and user authentication. It also holds personal and sensitive information, hence the need for reliable mitigation of all sorts of attack vectors. Advanced RASP (Runtime Application Self-Protection) techniques were used to effectively and efficiently guard the app and data.
